**Overview**
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant in the Special Collections and Archives unit. This role supports metadata entry production and assists faculty, staff, and students by contributing to the daily operations of the unit. The position works up to 10 hours per week, depending on operational needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Enter metadata from legacy finding aids into an online archival management system. This includes inputting titles, record group numbers, accession numbers, resource types, language, dates, cubic footage, subject headings, donor information, biographical/historical notes, scope and content descriptions, access notes, and other collection-specific details.
+ Enter inventories for each collection.
+ Assist with data cleanup to align with current archival standards.
+ Maintain confidentiality and handle materials responsibly.
+ Verify biographical and historical information for collections.
+ Ensure archival collections align with finding aid inventories.
+ Process small archival collections and add finding aids to the archival management system.
+ Provide occasional assistance at the reference desk.
