**Overview**
Auburn University Libraries is seeking applicants for the position of Student Assistant in the Special Collections and Archives unit.
The student must be available to work any hours during the unit's hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. This role supports faculty, staff, and students by contributing to the daily, routine library operations of the unit. Student assistants may work up to 20 hours per week, depending on operational needs.
**Responsibilities**
+ Shelving and filing rare books and archival materials
+ Conducting an inventory of rare book collections
+ Scanning archival materials for inclusion in the AU Libraries Digital Collections
+ Using audio equipment and computer programs to digitize historic media collections
+ Serving Special Collections and Archive patrons by retrieving requested materials
+ Entering archival data into spreadsheets and other content management applications
+ Other library duties as assigned
