Role Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in Clearfield County is hiring a Maintenance Repairman 2. The role ensures the operational efficiency of buildings, machinery, bridges, and equipment across the county. Workers will apply carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing skills to conduct repairs and maintenance across a broad range of facilities and structures.
Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on buildings, grounds, structures, bridges, equipment, and machinery.
Use carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing skills to fix roofs, install flashing, gutters, downspouts, doors, frames, and furniture.
Fabricate and install temporary partitions and install/maintain plumbing fixtures and drainage systems.
Perform interior and exterior painting.
Operate a range of power and hand tools safely, prioritizing equipment safety and correct method for each task.
Work Schedule
Full‑time employment
Work hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday with a 30‑minute lunch break
Telework is not an option
Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases
Qualifications
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (or equivalent state or federal title)
OR four years in building and plant maintenance involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
OR an equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license
Ability to perform essential job functions
