Overview
Position: Project Accountant
Our client is a leading construction management firm based north of Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Review and approve project budgets and cost estimates
Monitor project expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
Prepare and analyze financial reports for project stakeholders
Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate billing to clients
Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices
Ensure compliance with all accounting and tax regulations
Participate in project meetings and provide financial updates to project teams
Assist with the preparation of project proposals and bids
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
Continuously evaluate and improve project accounting processes and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles
Proficient in MS Office and accounting software (experience with Procore is a plus)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
