Material Coordinator – Lexington, KY

This role allows a transition from private, public, government, or military experience into a 3M career. The coordinator will be located at the Lexington plant and will support production by managing material flow, inventory, and shipping/receiving activities.
Position Details

Full-time 1st Shift – 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Starting rate: $19.67 per hour, up to $24.04 per hour.
Paid vacation: 3 weeks after hire.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare, assemble, and pack orders according to customer and shipping requirements.
Verify incoming and outgoing materials against documentation; report and resolve discrepancies.
Receive, inspect, and distribute materials to appropriate departments or storage locations.
Process all shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions in SAP and freight carrier systems.
Support production by kitting orders, attaching drawings, and delivering materials as needed.
Maintain inventory accuracy and a clean, safe, organized work environment while completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or higher.
At least 1 year of experience using computers for data entry, order processing, or transaction entry.
Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
Experience using freight carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
Knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping processes.
Experience with inventory control and material handling practices.
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, and purchase orders.
Experience following written procedures or standard operating instructions.
Attention to detail and accuracy in tasks such as verifying orders, matching documentation, or tracking inventory.
Additional Requirements

Applicants meeting the basic qualifications must pass 3M elected testing. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employment‑visa sponsorship. Travel is not required and relocation assistance is not available.
