Role Overview
This role involves taking a lead position in special projects, which includes researching, analyzing, and reporting on issues that affect the company. The position requires making recommendations for solutions and following through to resolution. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and ensuring the consistent application of accounting policy.
Key Responsibilities
Record operated and non-operated revenue across all products.
Ensure accurate and timely posting of monthly revenue entries.
Prepare cash entries, reclassifications, and reverse/rebook entries as needed.
Analyze accrual-to-actual variances and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare monthly journal entries in SAP and Excalibur.
Complete, review, and perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
Analyze and reconcile intercompany account balances.
Assist with owner inquiries, including detailed reconciliations and issue resolution.
Conduct financial analysis to validate monthly entries and ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with internal departments and follow up with partners to obtain necessary revenue data.
Coordinate and respond to internal and external audit requests.
Maintain a thorough understanding and application of GAAP, SEC regulations, and related company policies.
Assure the accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related Business field.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience managing corporate accounting policies, regulatory compliance, and special projects is pertinent.
Technical Skills: Experience with financial systems such as SAP, Excalibur, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms. Proficiency with Microsoft Word is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or a Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of SOX compliance.
Experience with acquisition/divestiture transactions.
Experience with SAP S4.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly pay range: $30.00 to $39.50. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, and additional professional development opportunities.
