Job Summary
The English Language Arts Teacher at Holy Redeemer Catholic School is responsible for delivering engaging, standards‑based instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and language development while fostering a faith‑centered learning environment. This role supports the academic, spiritual, social, and emotional growth of students and integrates Catholic values into daily instruction and classroom practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned ELA instruction, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills.
Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into literacy instruction and classroom culture.
Create and maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and accountability.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
Promote critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication skills through varied instructional strategies.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
Collaborate with faculty, support staff, and administration to support student achievement and school initiatives.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school community events.
Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
Valid teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).
Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of Holy Redeemer Catholic School.
Strong classroom management, instructional, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
