• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,880 - $3,090
• Setting: Inpatient / Operating Room (Hospital)
• Location: Lexington, KY 40504 (facility credentialing)
• Shift: 24-hour weekend shifts primarily (7 am Fri - 7 am Mon), plus vacation coverage; Shift Duration: 12 Hour Rotating; Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Schedule: One weekend a month, 1-2 call days per week
• EMR: Epic

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiothoracic critical care, cardiothoracic surgery fellowship service, or related surgical specialty
• Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• Active Kentucky (KY) PA license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications; DEA registration
• Ability to complete credentialing at the facility in Lexington, KY
• Clean malpractice history preferred
• Self-query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application (required)

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as surgical first assist for CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection cases
• Perform vein harvest, chest tube placement, and other perioperative procedures under surgeon supervision
• Provide telemetry and ICU-level inpatient care and post-operative management
• Participate in inpatient rounds, procedures, and surgical duties during weekend coverage
• Support surgeons and multidisciplinary teams across the OR and inpatient units
• Cover scheduled call days and provide safe, timely patient handoffs
