Job Description
Position Overview: We are looking for a Divorce and Family Law Associate to work closely with our experienced team. This role involves representing clients in various domestic relations cases including divorce, child custody, child support, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, alimony, and post‑divorce issues. You will help manage a caseload, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide strategic advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings at local and state level.
Meet hourly billing requirements weekly.
Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery requests.
Assist in the development of case strategies and participate in case preparation.
Collaborate with staff attorneys and clients to build and manage case files.
Manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Admitted to practice law in Tennessee.
Licensed to practice at least five (5) years, with at least three (3) years of family law experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent research and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
High level of professionalism, empathy, and integrity.
Knowledge and/or experience with Business Litigation is a plus.
Two (2) employer references.
