Facility Maintenance Technician Job Description
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the upkeep, repair, and safety of our buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to repair requests, and supporting facility improvement projects to maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently
Repair or replace defective equipment, fixtures, and components
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on vending machines to ensure they are clean, stocked, and functioning properly
Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or projects
Assist with janitorial duties, office moves, furniture assembly, and general facility setup
Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and place orders as needed
Support emergency response efforts and participate in safety drills
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
Microsoft suite and computer experience
Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related field
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical documents
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions
Work Environment
May require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
Occasional evening or weekend work for emergencies or special projects4
