Accounts Payable Associate

Position Purpose
The Accounts Payable Associate provides support to the Finance Department through processing payables and the maintenance of accounting documents.
Essential Functions
Demonstrates accounting practices and recordkeeping in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Reviews, verifies, and processes vendor invoices for accuracy and proper coding and authorization.
Codes and enters high volume accounts payable information.
Prepares and processes check runs and electronic payments.
Reconciles vendor accounts and resolves outstanding balances and discrepancies.
Monitors payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements and avoid late fees.
Collaborates with purchasing and receiving departments to resolve invoice disputes.
Assists with month‑end and year‑end close by reconciling accounts payable records.
Maintains relationships with internal and external customers and vendors as needed.
Identifies opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and implement best practices.
Experience with AP automation is a plus.
Flexible
on‑traditional schedule may be required.
Performs other necessary functions as assigned.
Qualifications Preferred
Knowledge
1–3 years of related experience in finance, accounting, or a related field; AP experience preferred.
Associate’s degree in accounting or finance is a plus.
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft BC365 is a plus.
