Controller

Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting functions including AP, AR, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Lead and coordinate the annual audit and act as primary contact for external auditors
Oversee payroll processing for a mid‑sized team (biweekly, Paychex)
Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and general ledger accuracy
Supervise and support a small accounting team
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, reporting, and operational support
Participate in key annual events and organizational initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (nonprofit experience strongly preferred)
Hands‑on and detail‑oriented, with strong technical accounting skills
Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
Strong Excel skills and comfort working across multiple accounting platforms
Preferred Skills
Prior leadership experience managing small teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative, mission‑focused environment
Compensation
$110,000 - $120,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications.
