Data Center Technician responsibilities include in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair, and participation in an on‑call rotation.

Physical Requirements

Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each

Working in cramped and/or elevated locations

Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching

Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Work in an industrial environment

Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts)

May require travel to established locations for training until the assigned site becomes fully operational

Key Job Responsibilities

Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components

Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability

Conduct routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to overall availability of AWS services

Act as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors

Participate in on‑call duties and scheduled maintenance and change management activities

Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis

Help interview, train, and onboard new team members

A Day in the Life

Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution

Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving

Solve problems at their root and step back to understand broader context

Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting

Operate without direction or support when necessary

Improve effectiveness through process innovation

Basic Qualifications

Work a flexible schedule that includes weekends, nights, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering, etc.)

Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)

Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems

Experience with behavioral interviewing and hiring

Experience training and onboarding new team members

Experience in a data center or other critical environment

The base salary range for this position is 30.00 – 54.00 USD hourly. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
