Responsibilities
Surveillance of Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) as part of the Emerging Infections Program.
Execute day-to-day components of the C. diff surveillance program, including telephone interviews of case-patients, medical record review, data entry and data management, and data analysis.
Participate in outbreak investigations and other projects.
Provide rabies consultation to the public and healthcare providers.
Minimum Qualifications

Completion of two years of post-secondary education in one of the following areas: health, public health or related field.
Student Worker Eligibility: enrolled in a postsecondary or graduate program or plan to enroll within three months. Minimum credit requirements apply depending on enrollment type.
Preferred Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in biology, animal science, agriculture, zoology, veterinary science, public health or other science/medical related field.
Career goals in infectious disease epidemiology; knowledge of epidemiology of infectious diseases, zoonotic diseases, and the One Health concept.
Experience providing professional customer service and communicating effectively, prioritizing tasks, and adapting to change.
Ability to explain technical information clearly and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Previous exposure to medical terminology or medical record abstraction experience.
Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a background check and employment reference check. Travel within the metropolitan area and use of a state vehicle will be required. Hybrid work with majority in-office at St. Paul.
