Responsibilities
Assist RJ Program staff with development, implementation, and evaluation of current and upcoming process and program offerings.
Perform administrative tasks to support program operations.
Provide general and specialized office support using customer service skills on the phone, in person, and online.
Organize ideas logically and assist in document preparation, editing, and filing.
Work Conditions
Estimated tenure of up to one (1) year; requires 20 hours per week.
Specific hours and days of work will be determined at the time of appointment based on business need and applicant availability.
Minimum Qualifications
Current enrollment in a post‑secondary or graduate study program; must provide college name and anticipated graduation date.
Direct restorative justice experience or specific education/classes on restorative justice.
Experience and skills in using standard computer software programs—word processing, spreadsheets, and databases—to create, modify, and protect information/documents.
Ability to use customer service skills and general office support with empathy and logical organization.
Business English skill sufficient to write, edit and file documents using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of and/or experience working with government‑based and community‑based victim service/advocacy organizations.
Experience with restorative justice practices or work with a restorative justice organization.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Knowledge of restorative justice philosophies and trauma‑informed practices.
Problem‑solving skills.
Physical Requirements
Review and sign a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) for the position.
Required to complete Tuberculosis screening prior to hire.
Additional Requirements
Selection process may include criminal history and other background checks in accordance with Department of Corrections policy.
Applicants must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted in accordance with Department of Corrections policy.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections does not sponsor work visas, including F‑1 STEM OPT extensions.
