Overview
We are seeking a Controller to lead our accounting function and support strategic growth alongside the VP of Finance. This is a hybrid role based out of our Draper, Utah headquarters, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the accounting function, partner closely with leadership, and play a key role in a scaling business. This is a hands‑on role with significant ownership of day‑to‑day accounting operations and the close process.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Close
Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
Ensure timely, accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures
Assist with ad hoc projects
Audit, Tax & Compliance
Lead annual audit process and manage auditors alongside VP of Finance
Oversee tax compliance (sales tax, income tax, 1099s) with external firm
Maintain strong internal controls and readiness for scale
Inventory & COGS
Own inventory accounting, including obsolescence and reserves
Ensure accurate COGS and gross margin reporting
Cash & Working Capital
Oversee cash management, AR/AP, and working capital optimization
Monitor cash conversion cycle (inventory + receivables vs payables)
Own and maintain cash forecast
Team Leadership
Manage and develop team of two
Maintain accountability, structure, and strong execution culture
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Act as a business partner and work closely with Operations, Marketing, and Sales / Retail teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
5–8+ years of experience (mix of public accounting + industry preferred)
Experience in CPG, eCommerce, or inventory‑based business preferred
Strong understanding of financial close process and GAAP fundamentals
Experience owning month‑end close process preferred
Prior experience managing or mentoring junior team members preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online strongly preferred; experience with NetSuite or prior experience with an ERP implementation is a plus

Audit runs smoothly with VP Finance partnership
