Responsibilities
Install, program, configure, commission/test, and service commercial security products including Simplex, Software House, DSC, American Dynamics, Genetec, Hexagon, and other integrated building system platforms at customer sites.
How You Will Do It
Execute projects on time and within allocated installation hours.
Collaborate with the project manager to resolve discrepancies and coordination problems.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and product manuals. Coordinate installation activities with all trades to optimize time and attend all required site meetings.
Instruct and train customers on equipment/system operation, conduct simulations, and answer questions.
Exhibit excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
Complete project documentation promptly.
Adhere to OSHA and Simplex‑Grinnell safety policies and procedures; participate in an on‑call rotation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Three years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, and paging systems.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
Physical ability to carry and move equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
Comfortable working in unusual positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment up to 40 feet, ducts, crawl spaces, and ceilings.
Availability for flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
High level of customer service.
Teamwork and leadership skills.
Safety mindset and adherence to guidelines.
Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and rapid learning ability.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Pass pre‑employment background and drug test.
Willingness for overnight travel if required.
Preferred Qualifications
NICET Level II certification.
Local or state licenses.
Knowledge of local fire codes.
Compensation
Hiring hourly range:
$21–$28 per hour. Compensation is determined by education, experience, knowledge, and market data. Competitive benefits package included.
