We are seeking an experienced Custom Solutions Production Manager to lead daily operations for a growing custom manufacturing and assembly business. This role is responsible for overseeing production, scheduling, quoting support, and lead-time management while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engineered solutions that meet customer expectations.
This position leads production planning and execution and works closely with Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Fabrication to align materials, capacity, and customer requirements. The manager owns system data accuracy, quality compliance, and continuous improvement efforts, while developing and leading a high-performing team focused on operational excellence and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations including scheduling, prioritization, and execution
Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Fabrication to commit to realistic assembly due dates
Review and validate assembly drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability
Drive on-time delivery performance through disciplined planning and execution
Develop, maintain, and manage complete assembly documentation, including work packages, drawings, and quality requirements
Own and manage certification and training programs, ensuring proper job assignment and skill qualification tracking
Ensure compliance with company policies, standard work practices, and quality system requirements
Lead daily production and scheduling meetings to align on priorities and constraints
Perform capacity planning and optimize labor and resources to meet demand
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of shop consumables and production materials
Manage incoming materials and delivery changes and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders
Create, maintain, and govern bills of materials, routings, part numbers, and inventory data within the ERP system
Ensure accuracy and consistency of system data throughout all stages of production
Oversee inventory transactions, adjustments, and reconciliation related to assemblies
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and lead times
Support internal and external audits and other quality system activities
Coordinate sourcing of third-party components with Purchasing
Oversee logistics and availability of rental equipment and field support supplies
Required Experience and Education
High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
5 to 8 or more years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly operations
2 to 3 or more years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and workflow management
Experience working within quality systems and participating in audits
Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong plus
Strong mechanical aptitude, curiosity, and communication skills
