Maintenance Utility Technician

Monday - Friday 8:30pm-4:30am

Compensation
$22.70 + $1.50 shift differential

Job Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Troubleshooting and identifying issues with equipment and systems, and performing repairs and maintenance as needed.

Conducting preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functioning and longevity of equipment and systems.

Responding to and addressing maintenance requests, including repairs, replacements, and installations.

Maintaining an inventory of spare parts and equipment and coordinating with vendors for replacements or repairs.

Keeping maintenance records and documentation, including work orders, repair logs, and maintenance schedules.

Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility, including performing minor repairs and upkeep tasks.

Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.

Assisting with the setup and breakdown of equipment and systems for events or projects.

Collaborating with other maintenance technicians and departments to ensure efficient functioning of the facility.

Continuously learning new skills and techniques to improve maintenance processes and keep up with industry standards.

Providing excellent customer service to residents, tenants, or employees by addressing and resolving maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.

Organized ability to follow systematic methods of performing tasks.

Sense of urgency – Ability to maintain a level of urgency to address and perform tasks timely.

Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

Skills & Abilities

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.

Experience: Five (5) plus years related experience; one (1) year forklift experience. Technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or a related field preferred.

Proven experience as a maintenance technician, with knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other mechanical systems.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with residents, tenants, and vendors.

Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills.

Certificates & Licenses: Valid State Driver’s License; Forklift Certification Preferred, Ability to obtain certification based on job requirements.
