Job Summary
This position is accountable for supporting various functions within the Property Accounting area which may include both individual assignments and team projects.
Job Responsibilities
Research/resolve internal customer inquiries for assigned business areas.
Investigate financial irregularities to determine cause and remedy
Analyze activity to ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed
Assist in updating training material/documentation to ensure it is kept current
Participate in special projects to improve process efficiency and performance Projects as assigned
Demonstrate appropriate understanding/working knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls, and apply them.
Maintain process documentation and identify non-value added processes within the department and seeks solutions.
Ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls and deadlines
Assist with financial closings, analyze data, prepare and enter journal entries, perform account reconciliations, prepare internal and external financial reports, provide back up and rotation of responsibilities, and maintain complex spreadsheets
Participate in the Capital vs. Expense determinations, fixed asset support, unitization of assets, and support special projects as needed
Coordinate with others outside of Accounting/Finance (i.e. external/internal auditors, customer service, regulatory)
Work independently, handle multiple responsibilities, and prioritize effectively
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics is required (May 2026 grads eligible to apply).
Entry level position where some work experience preferred but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints in a challenging and fast paced environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Understand aspects of accounting theory and financial statement classification
Ability to understand and execute financial controls and perform testing
Ability to learn new processes and systems
Document basic processes and procedures in ways easily understood and followed by others
Ability to communicate with internal and external parties in a clear and timely manner
Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Strong work ethic and an eager willingness to accept and meet challenges
Independent, mature, professional team member who is an analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve moderately complex problems

Pay Range Minimum : $59,510.36
Pay Range Maximum : $102,655.28
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
