What You’ll Do
This position is responsible for the daily set up and operation of one or more manufacturing machines. Drill presses, punch presses, saws, bending rolls, grinders, spot welders and DNC equipment will be used to shape and alter sheet metal according to specifications. Potential operators must be able to interpret blueprints, rough sketches and engineering drawings to ensure the accuracy of secondary part dimensions. Operator will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties, including but not limited to, area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging. Ideal candidates should have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work in a team environment. This is a grade 2 position; prior experience with industry-standard fabrication equipment is a must. Preferably, 1-2 years of fabrication experience, in a manufacturing environment. This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to "the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle (forklift), equipment, machinery or power tools or the repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage".

Staff and operate assigned machinery to facilitate production needs.

Stage raw materials at designated work center.

Load and unload machines.

Use handheld tools/gauges to confirm in-process part conformance.

Skid in-process parts in a manner that provides protection from damage.

Ensure production identification and traceability.

Conduct operator level maintenance when required.

Must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Your Experiences & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Works well individually or within a team.

Ability to read drawings, blueprints and specifications.

Must understand work orders, work instructions, as well as verbal instruction.

Must understand the quality requirements for multiple customers.

Great attention to detail.

Ability to use handheld measuring tools to confirm product conformance.

Knows when to seek clarification on problems.

Previous experience with industry standard fabrication equipment and related tooling is required.

Preferably, 1-2 years of fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
