K-1 / K-8 Rural Music Teacher
Position located at Douglas Primary School and Douglas Rural Schools. Applicants must have a music certification or endorsement.
Responsibilities
Teach assigned classes in the school building and, when needed, in other buildings.
Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to the students’ maturity and interests.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of the student groups.
Arrange and set up classrooms.
Maintain an inventory of instruments and equipment.
Plan and direct performances.
Coordinate schedules with building staff.
Travel between buildings when needed.
Qualifications
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
Wyoming PTSB Teaching Certification for K-8 Music.
Eligibility for a Wyoming teaching certificate endorsed in Music.
