Account Representative | Patient Services Specialist

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Patient Services Specialist, providing essential clerical support and care coordination in a dynamic regional healthcare setting in the Midwest. This role involves managing admissions, assisting clients with paperwork, and ensuring smooth registration and financial enrollment processes.
Key Responsibilities

Facilitate admission procedures and help clients complete necessary documentation, including releases of information.
Register new clients and verify insurance details to ensure accurate financial enrollment.
Assess client needs by evaluating acuity and gathering relevant historical information.
Schedule follow-up appointments based on assigned levels of care.
Perform clerical duties such as record keeping, collections, and receptionist tasks including phone management and office upkeep.
Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to maintain respectful and professional relationships.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college coursework in Microsoft applications, health, or behavioral sciences is preferred.
Experience

One to three years of experience in medical records, filing, or secretarial roles is required. Preferred candidates will have three to five years of experience handling phone communications, medical records, and personal health information (PHI).
Requirements

Good computer literacy with familiarity in basic Microsoft tools.
Basic experience in alpha-numeric filing.
Training in HIPAA and knowledge of privacy regulations is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.
Ability to manage conflict, adapt to changing priorities, and work autonomously.
