The Bartender and Cabana Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing a team behind a bar or within a stand, preparing food, preparing and serving drinks, providing customer service, stocking and rotating merchandise, following safety regulations, and performing various administrative and cleaning tasks. This position will also be responsible for ensuring cabana guest needs are met and servers are meeting expectations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Supervisory Duties: Assist with the daily supervision of the Bartending and Cabana teams and any other assigned departments; lead by example; act as an approachable mentor and coach; become knowledgeable of essential duties of all assigned F&B positions and backfill these positions when needed; participate in new-hire orientation and training activities; ensure meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Wisconsin law; ensure daily sign-in sheets are completed and submitted; assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities.
Departmental Duties: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner; understand and comply with all company policies and applicable state/local Health Department regulations; maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards; present menus to guests and promote specials and/or specialty house drinks; check guest identification to ensure minimum age for alcohol; operate restaurant equipment; maintain knowledge of menu items and assist guests by explaining preparation; take guest orders, communicate orders to kitchen, and serve food and beverages; periodically check on guests to ensure needs are met; monitor guests for potential intoxication and determine when alcohol service should cease; adhere to bar safety training protocols; utilize POS and registers to run tabs, prepare checks, and record transactions; stock and store service items; sanitize and clean service areas; manage to-go orders; escalate maintenance issues or safety hazards as needed; perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education And Experience: No education requirements for this position; 1–2 years of previous bartender experience or related role; prior experience with alcoholic beverage serving and related regulations is helpful; must be Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS, RAMP, I-PACT, or similar) or become certified within 30 days of hire when required by state/local guidelines.
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age; ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; ability to work late hours; reliable transportation; ability to comply with all uniform policies; ability to refrain from on‑the‑job alcohol consumption; safety-oriented mindset and knowledge of beverage regulations; ability to speak with guests when leadership is not present; exceptional customer service skills; ability to promote sales and customer satisfaction; experience with POS technology and PCI compliance is a plus; ability to follow directions, multi-task, and work as part of a team or independently.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and be on feet for most of the shift; ability to stoop, twist, kneel, bend, crouch, or reach above shoulders; ability to use a computer or POS while seated; ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment; ability to lift and carry 40 pounds or more; ability to use hands to grasp and move objects; ability to use step stools as needed.
Working Conditions: Based in one or more F&B or restaurant locations throughout the park with indoor and outdoor exposure; variable outdoor temperatures; high noise levels; flashing lights; crowded environments; exposure to cleaning chemicals and detergents; potential for interruptions and priority changes.
