Job Description
Follow instructions to perform a variety of duties in a dining hall or related facility.
Education and Experience
The ability to read, write, and follow instructions; record temperatures on dish machines, freezers, etc.
Skills and Knowledge
The ability to read, write, and follow instructions, record temperatures on dish machines, freezers, etc.
Responsibilities
Load and operate a dishwashing machine.
Remove and store washed dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, etc.
Wash pots, pans and cooking utensils.
Mop floors, wash walls, windows, cabinets, shelves, equipment, etc., including locker room and bathroom areas.
Clear and clean tables and dispose of trash and garbage.
Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation.
May move materials into and out of storage area.
May fill milk and beverage dispensers and replenish as needed.
Physical Requirements
Standing and/or walking 85% – 100% of the shift
Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend to below the knee
Twisting and bending of head and torso
Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, and bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, wiping, etc.)
Able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist height
Able to lift up to 20 lbs overhead
Able to lift and carry up to 20 – 30 lbs. for a distance of up to 10 feet
Repetitive wrist movement (e.g., wiping, scrubbing, etc.)
Frequently work in conditions of extreme heat
Ability to push and pull up to 250 lbs.
Exposure to and handling of solvents, cleaning products, organic waste, dust
Tools/Equipment
Will be required to learn to operate a variety of equipment including the dish washing machine, buffer, vacuum cleaner, and use mops and brooms, etc.
