Responsibilities
Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients.
Maintain appropriate patient records and documentation.
Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories; evaluate equipment for proper and safe function; report malfunctions to director.
Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients being treated.
Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.
Respiratory Therapists must be able to stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean or stoop without difficulty; lift up to 50 pounds when required; have required vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment).
Qualifications
1 year of acute care experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) certification.
Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) may be required in some areas.
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
Pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
