About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead and manage its business development and sales activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the company's sales and revenue goals by identifying new leads and opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and providing tailored solutions to ensure client success in the development and manufacture of products. This role involves generating proposals, negotiating and closing deals, and building strategic partnerships to maximize commercial opportunities. The VP will also be expected to stay abreast of market trends, competitor technologies, and to collaborate with various internal teams to ensure the company's offerings remain competitive and to assist in cross-selling other in-house service and technology areas.
Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of successful CDMO sales experience, with a preference for a background in biologics or chemistry, and hold a BS or Masters degree in life sciences or a related field. The role requires excellent communication skills, experience with CRM and Microsoft Office, a proven track record in meeting sales forecasts, and the ability to negotiate complex contracts. The VP will be expected to operate with the highest ethical standards, comply with company policies, and effectively participate as a team player. The position also involves travel between company sites as needed and the physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
