Mechanical Design Engineer

The Mechanical design/drafting position will be responsible to create detailed design drawings and related specifications of mechanical/electrical equipment according to engineering sketches, specifications, and related data/drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts. *This would include foundations, steel structures, refractories, Piping and Ductwork systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs basic and complex layouts from information speciefied by others.

• Responsible for as-built drawings at the end of a project.

• Performs detailed dimensional and bill of material check of all drawings.

Collaboration with other disciplines to create layouts and detail drawings

• Assists the Job leaders in determining how to best to meet job requirements.

• Assists other project disciplins with questions/issues during the project work.

• Checks entire job for interferences and constructability.

•

Create 3D models and detail drawings with Autodesk Inventor

• Creating bill of materials

• Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to an “On time under budget mentality” Education and Experience • An associate degree in Drafting or CAD Technology (Mechanical design background preferred) with 3-5 years of experience; or an equivalent. • combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design teams.

• Advanced AutoCAD and Inventor 3D knowledge preferred.

• Strong understanding of mechanical and Structural drafting disciplines.

• General understanding of fabrication, purchasing, and field installation/construction..

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work.

• Strong communication skills and organization of documents.
