About This Role
The Association of Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) works under the direction of the Staff Service Manager I of the MAGI Financial Eligibility Unit in the Policy Development Branch of the Medi-Cal Eligibility Division. The AGPA exercises independent judgment to make decisions and recommendations that significantly impact California’s Medi-Cal program.

Responsibilities

Research complex issues affecting Medi-Cal eligibility; analyze options and recommend solutions.

Write and edit policy guidance documents for county eligibility workers and system implementation.

Develop policies, guidelines, and processes affecting Medi-Cal, Covered California, SAWS, and CalHEERS.

Collaborate with federal, state, and county staff, legislative staff, vendors, and advocacy groups.

Lead complex, highly visible Medi-Cal eligibility projects, including those related to federal changes such as House Resolution 1.

Travel may be required, encompassing occasional overnight travel up to 5% of total time.

Eligibility
Applicants must have permanent civil service status or meet one of the following: list or LEAP eligibility, lateral transfer, reinstatement, or SROA/Surplus eligibility.

Working Conditions
Telework is available up to three days per week with a minimum of two in‑person days per week. Business travel may be required. Work location: 1501 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95814.
