A growing manufacturing organization in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Project Manager to oversee custom equipment orders from initiation through delivery and final payment. This role offers a competitive salary of $90,000–$125,000, depending on experience, and is ideal for someone who enjoys managing timelines, driving accountability, and ensuring customer expectations are met.
This is a highly visible role responsible for coordinating across multiple departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. The ideal Project Manager is analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable leading communication between internal teams and external customers.
This is an in‑person, on‑site role in the Northtowns of Western New York.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and manage all phases of projects from order through delivery and closeout
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment across teams and stakeholders
Lead regular project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and updates
Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams
Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track
Initiate milestone billing and support financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance
Maintain project trackers, open issues logs, and reporting documentation
Support contract review, order acceptance, and project kickoff processes
Drive project closeout activities and lead lessons learned discussions
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to project execution and processes
Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to schedule, cost, and delivery
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience managing build‑to‑order or engineered equipment projects strongly preferred
Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and financial trackingAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation
Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
