Summary
Join us for an incredible opportunity to help lead our Culinary Supervisor at the Grand Hyatt Seattle. In this role you will supervise the Banquets and Restaurant kitchens, producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guest's needs in a timely manner while managing a team of hourly cooks in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Key skills and knowledge include:
Basic cost control understanding
Culinary leadership skills
Proficiency in computer skills
Monitoring and processing payroll costs and overtime
Knowledge of ordering and working with the Purchasing team to fulfill requisitions
Resourceful, able to make decisions thoughtfully and promptly
Hourly Rate
The hourly rate range for this position is $32.70 to $33.35 per hour. The starting rate is $32.70 per hour and a higher established rate of $33.35 per hour is available for colleagues who have remained in the Culinary Supervisor position with Hyatt for four years or more.
Qualifications
4 years of previous line experience preferred, in banquet and restaurant kitchens
Culinary leadership experience preferred
Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
Experience in high‑volume kitchens, including fine dining and/or From Scratch cooking
Ability to perform all basic, intermediate, and advanced cooking skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, standing/walking for long periods of time
Ability to work multiple stations in the kitchen
Ability to lift, push, or pull a moderate amount of weight
Strong communication skills
Open schedule flexibility to include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Understanding of food safety standards and possession of a Food Handler’s Card
