Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine Are you a dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist seeking a rewarding locum opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We are currently hiring an experienced locum physician to provide high-quality maternal-fetal care in Mechanicsville, VA. This pivotal role offers a chance to support vital services during a critical recruitment period, ensuring patients receive expert care in a dynamic setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient maternal-fetal medicine services, including high-risk pregnancies. Perform procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and cervical cerclage. Manage a caseload averaging 27 patients per day, with a focus on high-risk pregnancy care (95%) and low-risk pregnancies (5%). Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising nurses, sonographers, genetic counselors, and administrative staff. Document patient encounters using EPIC and Viewpoint EMRs. Required Skills and Qualifications: Board certification or Eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Proven expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and fetal interventions. Proficiency in amniocentesis, CVS, and other fetal procedures. Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and team collaboration abilities. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with cervical cerclage procedures. Familiarity with managing complex maternal co-morbidities such as pre-eclampsia, hypertension, and genetic disorders. Experience working with ultrasound equipment, specifically GE 10 models. Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD orDO) from an accredited institution. Current medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain licensure within 90 days. Prior locum or hospital-based maternal-fetal medicine experience preferred. Other Requirements: Travel reimbursement including flights, hotel, rental car, and mileage (billed at IRS standard rate). Availability to start on March 1, 2026, with open coverage dates in May 2026. Ability to work independently without supervision of other providers.
