Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in an acute care hospital setting in Albany, GA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Acute care Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting (44-bed unit)
Day shift, 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Patient ratios of 1:5, with the possibility of 1:6 on both days and nights
CNA support available, typically at a 1:8–1:10 ratio; CNAs may also serve as sitters
Telemetry is present on the unit but monitored by a separate unit
Floating required to all acute care, cardiology (for medical patients), and the EC for acute care patient holds
Every other weekend required
Holiday coverage required as needed
Charting done in MEDITECH; experience preferred but not required
17-week contract
Requirements
Active RN license in Georgia or a compact state currently in hand
Current BLS and NIHSS certifications, both must be issued by the AHA
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or acute care specialty experience
A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (as verified by the address on their driver's license) to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
Orientation consists of approximately 1 week of general and EMR training, followed by 2 days of floor-specific orientation
Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment
Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
Albany, GA is a city of approximately 80,000 residents, located about 175 miles from Atlanta, 88 miles from Tallahassee, FL, and 134 miles from Shell Point Beach, FL
