Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and telemetry competency.

Details

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)

Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 286-bed acute care hospital

Patient ratio of 1:5–6

Every other weekend required

No on-call requirements

Floating within scope to similar units may be required to meet facility needs

Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start

Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Telemetry competency required

Driver’s license and SSN required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

Level III Trauma acute care hospital

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Community hospital experience preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

Online orientation modules must be completed prior to start date

Royal blue scrubs required

Free parking on-site

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff within the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs

Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
