Job Description
Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines and a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, and medical history interview; perform acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings to donors or for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.

Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) under guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements.

Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).

Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.

Fulfillment of state regulations for basic IV therapy.

Completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
