About the Role
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role requires familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment and involves providing center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

How You Will Contribute

You will determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

You will evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and escorting donors to emergency care facilities.

You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.

You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.

You will manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required, referencing EHS guidance.

You may act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

What You Bring to Takeda

High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate level of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.

Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT–Paramedic).

Current CPR and AED certification.

Meeting state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits
U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
