Job Description
This role is a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The specialist supports plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, medical safety, and regulatory compliance within a sterilization environment.

About the Role
Responsibilities include:

Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results.

Evaluate donor reactions per standard operating procedures, and address medical emergencies using Center Physician's standing orders or donor transport protocols.

Advise the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical or technical issues, donor safety, and eligibility.

Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation.

Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized, coordinating investigations of local community pandemic threats.

How You Will Contribute
As a Medical Support Specialist you will ensure safety and quality of plasma collection, provide clinical support to donors, and collaborate with physicians and EHS to maintain compliance and best practices.

What You Bring to Takeda

High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level nursing program meeting state requirements.

Current licensure or certification in the state of assignment: RN, NP, or PA.

Active CPR and AED certification.

State licensure for basic IV therapy.

Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.

Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation and Benefits
Location:

USA – NE – Omaha

Hourly Wage Range:

$33.44 – $45.98
