Job Summary
Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a self-motivated individual for the role of a Technology and Retail Food Service Manager with experience in POS support at Winona State University in MN. In this role, you will advise the day-to-day operations and financial success of retail foodservice technology locations. This includes adhering to contract guidelines, the Health Department’s regulations, company standards, and expectations of food quality, freshness, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the key technology administrator to the POS system and CBORD.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine system checks.
Support all POS system upgrades.
Ensure accurate configuration of menus, pricing, and settings as required.
Provide on-site and remote support to resolve POS issues and minimize downtime.
Support troubleshooting with hardware, software, payment processing, and connectivity.
Train managers and team members on basic POS functionality and troubleshooting steps.
Plan and supervise special functions, maintain cash controls, payroll records, and oversee the hiring and training of associates.
Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain good public relations through safe and efficient use of resources.
Direct staff to provide scheduled retail services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standards.
Train associates in customer service, proper portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation.
Complete all daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in corporate policies, meeting deadlines.
Communicate effectively with all team members, clients and students.
Implement and maintain cash handling standards to prevent theft of services or company funds.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. Degree or A.A. Degree plus three years of directly related experience preferred.
Minimum of one to three years of retail operational foodservice management experience in POS preferred, depending upon formal degree or training.
Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation.
P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
Experience with cash retail operations.
Retail marketing experience is highly desirable.
Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.
Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to communicate at various levels including management, customers and associates.
Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practices. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, e-mail and the Internet.
Experience with foodservice POS platforms such as Toast, Micros/Oracle, MM Hayes, or similar systems is a plus.
