Easterseals PORT Health is a nonprofit provider of mental health, substance use, disability, and community‑based services across North Carolina and Virginia. We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated intern to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team. This internship offers a meaningful opportunity to learn within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team while supporting adults living with serious mental health challenges and co‑occurring substance use disorders.
What You’ll Do

As An ACT Intern, You Will

Observe and assist with individual and group therapy sessions
Collaborate with ACT team members to support treatment planning and service delivery
Utilize ACT‑based analytical and recovery‑oriented approaches to adjust strategies and interventions
Provide modeling, reinforcement, redirection, and guidance to promote independence and skill development
Gain exposure to crisis response, care coordination, and community‑based behavioral health services

This internship is designed to be both educational and experiential. You will:
Apply academic knowledge in a professional behavioral health setting
Gain a deeper understanding of the ACT model of care
Develop skills in assessment, documentation, collaboration, and client engagement

Preferred Skills Include
