Youngsville Academy is seeking a High School Chemistry Teacher to join our growing faculty for the 2026-2027 school year! The successful candidate will teach college‑preparatory chemistry courses emphasizing scientific literacy, analytical thinking, and laboratory investigation while preparing students for success in higher education.

Youngsville Academy’s program combines a classical educational philosophy with strong STEM instruction, encouraging students to develop disciplined thinking, intellectual curiosity, and a deep understanding of the natural world.

The High School Chemistry Teacher will deliver rigorous instruction aligned with placement into top‑tier universities while fostering an engaging classroom environment that supports student achievement and scientific inquiry.

Key Responsibilities

Teach college‑preparatory high school chemistry courses, including laboratory‑based instruction.

Develop and deliver lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding and scientific reasoning.

Implement hands‑on laboratory experiments and ensure proper laboratory safety procedures.

Prepare students for college‑level coursework and standardized assessments through rigorous academic expectations.

Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support diverse learners.

Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student progress.

Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress.

Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary projects, and instructional improvement.

Participate in department meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development.

Support the mission and culture of Youngsville Academy through positive student engagement and professional conduct.

Serve as a faculty advisor or support extracurricular activities when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Phsycial Sciences, or a closely related field

Strong content knowledge in Chemistry and laboratory sciences

Ability to design and implement rigorous college‑preparatory instruction

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Commitment to supporting a structured, academically focused school environment

Preferred Qualifications

North Carolina teaching license in Chemistry or Science (9–12)

Master’s degree in chemistry, science education, or a related field

Experience teaching high school chemistry or advanced chemistry courses

Experience with laboratory‑based instruction and scientific research methods
