Overview
Mater Dei High School, a Catholic, co‑educational, college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Orange, is seeking a Choral/Vocal Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. Position begins on August 3, 2026.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Choral and Vocal Music, support the instructional, operational, and performance needs of the Choral and Vocal Music Program.
Provide classroom instruction, co‑teach, and vocal support for choral ensembles.
Serve as the sole teacher for designated instructional days and assigned courses (AP Music Theory and Handbells, if offered).
Assist with sectionals, voice lessons, and substitute coverage as needed.
Support administrative coordination of program events, trips, budgets, communications, materials, and performances while advancing the mission and values of Mater Dei High School.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field, plus a California Single Subject Teaching Credential (required).
Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum one year of teaching experience in Music Education.
CPR certification required.
Compensation
$51,444 to $62,888 per year, based on education and years of teaching experience.
