Summary
Administers employee payroll and selects employees to fill vacant positions relating to all phases of the company by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Responsibilities
Accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll.
Maintain accurate payroll records and data entry for time and attendance transactions.
Process garnishment and wage levy requests.
Create and produce routine required payroll reports and information data reports as requested by management.
Correctly input tax withholdings.
Ensure proper policies are followed.
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations.
Provide employment verifications.
Document workflow and procedures.
Respond to requests for payroll information from internal and external authorized parties.
Ensure familiarity with governmental compliance regulations and laws.
Recruit and interview employees.
Schedule and conduct face‑to‑face interviews.
Attract applicants by posting job advertisements and participating in career and job fairs.
Efficiently and effectively fill positions while partnering with site supervisors.
Communicate with supervisors regularly.
Determine applicant qualifications by analyzing responses and verifying references.
Plan and conduct new employee orientation.
Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data.
Complete new hire paperwork.
Interact effectively with owners and applicants.
Assist with other projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university, or five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members; effectively present information to top management or public groups; write speeches and articles for publication conforming to prescribed style and format.
Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret technical instructions, and handle abstract variables.
Physical demands: Regularly reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel; talk or hear; sit; stand; walk; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl; lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally 25 pounds; required vision includes close and distance vision.
