Quality Metrology Technician

Introduction

The Prototyping division (XOPs) provides rapid prototyping capability and facilitates quick design iterations for product development. We are looking for someone who's enthusiastic, innovative, quality-driven, a self-starter, and willing to take on the challenges to work with us as an exceptional team member to help us increase the quality across our products.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum requirement of an associate's degree in a relevant field and 6 years of experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Previous mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment inspection background with the ability to use precision measurement tools.
Experience in defining and executing quality inspection criteria for CNC machined and 3D printed parts.
Basic knowledge of QMS (Quality Management System) and Core Quality tools such as Process Flow Chart, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), Control Plan, and Measurement System Analysis.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T methodologies.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of PC-DMIS programming.
Understanding of sampling methods.
Working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets, Jira, and RGBSI.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Evaluate inspection and quality requirements for new Jira tickets to interpret inspection plans and conduct visual, functional, and mechanical measurements, & tests across multitudes of parts ranging from injection molding, castings, and 3D printed parts, to CNC machined parts and electromechanical sub-assemblies.
Review supplier-provided documentation for outsourced parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with requirements.
Create and submit inspection and quality documents including detailed Inspection Reports, Dimensional reports, Functional Test Reports (FTR's), Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework Instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDO's), Packaging Reports, and Part Submission Warrants (PSW's) in various quality databases including Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and other Internal Quality Logs.
Document and record non-conformances discovered during inspection via TDO's and Jira Tickets.
Maintain parts traceability requirements per standard.
Perform Metrology tasks using CMM and/or 3D laser scanner, as other standard metrology equipment.
Maintain the calibration schedule of the production and test equipment.
Assist the RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) in order to drive quality issues to resolution.
Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
