Description
The Network Systems Administrator is responsible for the management and support of the company's physical and virtual server and storage infrastructure. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and disaster recovery processes. The candidate will be responsible for system design, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting across the enterprise. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, vendors, and support groups to resolve issues and maintain system stability. The ideal candidate will also develop documentation, support 24/7 operations, and contribute to infrastructure planning and improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Design, install, configure, maintain, and monitor physical and virtual servers.
Administer operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades.
Monitor and analyze server resource utilization to ensure optimum server/storage performance.
Troubleshoot complex OS, virtualization, storage, and application issues to resolution.
Assist in maintaining backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Manager software releases, including distribution, installation, and deletion.
Maintain system documentation and configuration baselines.
Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
Work with IT Director for guidance on global information security.
Collaborate with IT staff, vendors, and business units on infrastructure needs.
Respond to outages and participate in on-call support as required.
Other duties/responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Requirements
Skills and Abilities
Must have extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Must have extensive knowledge of server operating systems and storage hardware.
Experience in Windows and Linux server environments.
Must have extensive knowledge of Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, DNS, DHCP).
Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing and resolving technical (hardware, software) problems.
Solid understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
Ability to identify and troubleshoot errors and develop solutions under tight deadlines.
Must be capable of multi-tasking and working both as a team and independently.
Must be well organized and have a strong attention to detail.
Must be willing to travel on an as-needed basis.
Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving escalated support tickets.
Assist with software administration as needed.
Must have valid driver's license and pass an MVR check and proof of insurability.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Education and Experience
Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-5 years of experience in server or system administration.
Experience with database management is helpful.
Knowledge of DFS (Distributed File System) is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash).
Knowledge of monitoring tools and backup solutions.
Certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA Server+, or Linux-based certifications.
Must be skilled with working in a fast-paced environment.
Must have a documented history of successfully driving projects to completion.
Must have experience with Active Directory Domain Services .
Must have an aptitude for time management.
