Title: Senior Project Accountant

Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 + Performance Bonus

Location: McLean, VA

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Accountant will own full-cycle project accounting for multiple real estate development projects, including:

• Job cost accounting and capitalization


• Preparing and reviewing detailed workpapers


• Construction loan draw preparation and reconciliation


• Lot settlement accounting (HUDs, purchase agreements, sales journals)


• Contract review and revenue treatment analysis


• General ledger entries and account reconciliations


• Month-end and year-end close support


• Supporting tax workpapers and GAAP/tax basis financial reporting


• Cash management and banking activity

This Senior Project Accountant must be comfortable operating independently and serving as the technical resource within development accounting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Finance must have strong debits/credits experience)


• 6+ years of real estate development, construction, or project accounting experience


• Strong understanding of development cost accounting and capitalization


• Experience preparing detailed workpapers


• Experience with lot settlements and contract interpretation


• Strong Excel skills


• Experience working within accounting systems
