This Loan Officer role joins a growing credit union with increasing loan volume and multiple sources of incoming applications. The organization is expanding both purchased and organic loan growth and is open to new ideas around process improvement and relationship development. You’ll work closely with executive leadership and have a direct impact on loan efficiency, volume, and overall member experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the loan origination process from application through funding, including credit review, decisioning, document collection, and final loan package preparation.
- Reconcile loan activity and prepare monthly reporting for purchased loans, issued loans, auto and mortgage activity, consolidation loans, and delinquency metrics.
- Participate in delinquency reviews with leadership and assist with collection efforts as needed.
- Manually input third‑party loan applications and ensure complete, accurate loan documentation.
- Verify insurance, title, and all required compliance documentation prior to funding.
- Support outreach efforts on occasion, including trade shows and follow‑up with indirect lending partners.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of banking or lending experience; prior lending authority strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of consumer lending processes and credit decision‑making.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Symitar or similar core banking systems is a plus.
- Highly trustworthy, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently with strong judgment and communication skills.
