We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller. This is a unique opportunity with a clear succession plan to become the CFO within the next 5 years. OVERVIEW OF THE CONTROLLER ROLE:



  • Oversee the company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Manage and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and retention.

  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party professionals to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial reporting accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.

  • Prepare and present financial reports, analysis, and insights to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Lead and support financial planning initiatives, including budget preparation, cash flow management, and long-term forecasting.

  • Oversee cost accounting, job costing (if applicable), and project-based financial tracking.

  • Support mergers and acquisitions, as needed, including financial due diligence and integration.

  • Participate in the strategic financial planning that supports the CFO succession plan.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE CONTROLLER:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and private industry.

  • Prior experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, or construction industries preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations.

  • Proven experience in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
