Senior Cost Accountant
Location: Warren, IN (Fully On-Site)
Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000
We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing financial cost systems across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- The Senior Cost Accountant performs standard cost accounting, inventory valuation, COGS, profitability, ratio, and variance analysis
- Prepare production cost calculations, cost allocation assumptions, and rates
- Ensure freight, storage, and related costs are properly incorporated into pricing and margins
- The Senior Cost Accountant ensures accurate inventory and COGS valuation through proper labor and overhead allocation
- Support leadership with gross margin and COGS reporting by product, customer, and location
Inventory Management
- The Senior Cost Accountant analyzes inventory movement, including PPV, job cost reviews, and physical inventories
- Develop and maintain inventory cost models and ensure consistency across all inventory activities
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to reconcile inventory counts and variances
- Support accurate inventory flow and transaction integrity across systems
General Accounting & Reporting
- Perform daily accounting activities including GL analysis, journal entries, fixed assets, and ad hoc reporting
- The Senior Cost Accountant supports month-end and year-end close processes
- Assist with GL reconciliations, KPI reporting, audits, and financial reviews
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within inventory management and accounting processes
- Support policy, procedure development, and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
- Manufacturing experience required for the Senior Cost Accountant role
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting principles
- Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; NetSuite preferred
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills
