Fractional Controller - York, PA

Overview of the Controller Role:

• A privately held organization in York County Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide controller‑level support on a fractional basis. This role offers an opportunity to partner with leadership to strengthen financial operations, reporting, and internal processes during a period of ongoing business activity.


• The position is primarily on‑site 15-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule M-F. Opportunity to grow into a full time role depending on performance, fit, and the needs of the business


• Pay: $50-60/hour DOE

Key Responsibilities for the Controller:

• Support and oversee general ledger activities across multiple entities


• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and longer‑term financial planning initiatives


• Help refine the monthly close process and financial reporting routines


• Review and support accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and credit card activity


• Monitor cash flow and prepare summary reporting for internal stakeholders


• Coordinate financial information in support of tax preparation and external review


• Enhance budgeting and variance analysis processes


• Maintain an organized chart of accounts and supporting documentation


• Provide accounting support for project‑based activities, including cost tracking


• Develop and document accounting procedures and internal controls as needed

Qualifications for the Controller:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience


• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred


• Experience using QuickBooks required


• Strong Excel skills
