Insurance Coverage Associate/Counsel

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified attorney to join a growing insurance coverage practice in California. This role focuses on advising and representing domestic and international insurers on complex coverage and litigation matters across a range of liability policies. The position is suited to someone who can operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and is keen to take ownership of sophisticated, high-value work.
Responsibilities:
Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies and provide strategic coverage advice
Draft coverage opinions, position letters, and client correspondence
Conduct detailed legal research and prepare memoranda
Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, and supporting briefs
Manage insurance coverage litigation matters, including strategy and deadlines
Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings as required
Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
Take a proactive role in managing multiple matters and maintaining client relationships
Qualifications:
Experience in insurance coverage or coverage litigation, or a commercial litigation background with a strong interest in coverage work
Admission to practice in California
Strong academic credentials
Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and handle time-sensitive matters
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Experience working on complex insurance or commercial litigation matters
